For your term project, you are asked to engage in research to determine what's currently important to you, what your practice is needing to address, which techniques and approches would work best to undertake this subject matter and public outcome, and which references tie into your work.

For some students this project will be one larger / more involved work pursued over the course of the term, for others, particularly those with process-based practices, this may become a series of work, or a subject matter explored via several different iterations.

All projects should engage with at least one of the themes discussed in class.

The formal (technical approach, style, final object) and the conceptual framework (thematic influences, references, history, social context, politics, etc) must be considered and developed in relation to one another, and in relation to some of the larger themes and discourses explored in your research project and the course.

You are required to hand-in a short (300 word) proposal on your term’s body of work by May 18. Your proposal should include: an introduction, the ideas behind your work, your goals in working on the project, the projected qualities or appearance of the work, your method of creating the work, and a conclusion (not necessarily in that order).

We will refine your project together through your proposal, instructor meetings and class discussions.

Post your proposal text or a link to Course Forum on moodle
and be sure to send your link to your instructor if you haven't yet: abriard@ecuad.ca
