Images, video, audio, websites, academic sources
these should cover, at least:

--> ARTWORKS + ARTISTS: 3 artists whose work you are in conversation with (inspires you and you draw something from them - similar theme, approach, a technique, etc)

--> TECHNIQUE: building skills - youtube tutorials, books, etc that help you build a new technical approach

--> ACADEMIC REFERENCES: texts from scholarly, peer reviewed publications that relate to your work/research. These could be exhibition reviews, a topic in another discipline, etc

--> ARTIST INTERVIEW: reach out to an artist whose work shares affinities with your own term project or wider practice. Gain their insights on their praxis, a specific project, or their own references, etc. Create an annotation for this interview (full transcript not required) sharing what you learned.

ANNOTATIONS

Create a brief annotation for each included element:

- a brief overview/summary

- state how it relates to your practice / what you gained from the resource

- where you found it (follow MLA format)

-develop independent research skills in relation to studio projects

-situate ideas within larger historical and contemporary contexts

-use writing and documentation as a tool to advance research and practice

- develop interview techniques and connect with others in your field

Evaluation criteria
Due June 1
PRAXIS ARTIST TALK
Each student will give a brief artist talk walking us through their completed expanded studio.
Praxis Publication is due June 22 for 10% of your grade.
It must include the following:

- Artist statement 5% (in-class workshop)
- Artist talk 10% (due June 1)
- Annotated references 10% (see below for more info)
- Found Artist interview or research presentation 5% (see below for more info)
- Term project 45%: (proposal 5%, mid-term critique 15%, final critique + documentation 25%)
